What is Mobotix?
It’s a video camera that you can view across your IT network or via the Internet, but it’s much more.
It’s clever . . .
Unlike conventional surveillance cameras, the MOBOTIX camera has the intelligence to process images and output them through an Ethernet, broadband or ISDN connection. The Mobotix camera independently updates pictures on a homepage, without the use of an additional computer. Visual information from a camera, or cameras, is therefore immediately available on the Internet.
The image processor in the camera ensures optimal 640x480, 1.3M pixel picture quality and automatically controls brightness, colour contrast and sharpness.
It’s user-friendly . . .
You configure and view the camera via your Internet browser, without the need for any other software, so it’s intuitive and easy. You don’t need any programming experience. Simply type in the domain, access code and password. Plug and play!
It’s rugged . . .
The option of weatherproof construction enabling the camera to operate at temperatures of 30°c to +60°c allows the camera to be installed outdoors. It has no moving parts, and a power supply is not required at the camera end because power is fed from the centre via a pair of free wires. The high quality lens is protected by a glass window for summer and winter operation.
It’s versatile . . .
Each camera can have one or two lenses and a range of lenses is available providing wide or telephoto, and day or night vision. The MOBOTIX Day/Night models with two image sensors (colour and monochrome) deliver brilliant colour video during the day and crisp monochrome images at night with light levels as low as 0.005 lux. Depending on the illumination, the cameras switch lenses automatically. The MOBOTIX unit can also be equipped with IR motion sensor, temperature sensor, microphone and speaker. Most models have a microphone built in to the camera to extend surveillance and recording to audio, and a speaker enables two-way communications.
It’s alert . . .
An essential feature of the MOBOTIX camera is the event trigger system which prompts the camera to store or transmit video images in response to a stimulus. This includes image changes, motion detection, sound and temperature variation. Events can be notified with a voice message to a phone, by email, fax or SMS. You can then log on to the camera to see live or stored images.
